What is OGNA?

OGNA is the local Oklahoma chapter of National Gerontological Nursing Association. We are a non-profit group of health care workers interested in promoting quality care for the older adult.

Goals

Share information regarding group activities including membership meetings via the website

eNewsletters inform members of legislative activities affecting older adults Improved members’ knowledge of gerontological nursing

Share gerontological resources among members

Increase feelings of self-worth in gerontological nurses

Work to further gerontological research

Provide the public with facts about aging

Inform members of upcoming legislation pertaining to aging

Develop and maintain liaisons with other aging advocacy groups

Design and carry out strategies to increase awareness of the gerontological nursing specialty

Increase membership by recruiting in new members from nursing programs
